Blessings

2020

  • Officially going to nursing school!
  • Cal Grant got approved for my school which was a huge help on the tuition fee. I almost cried so many happy tears.
  • Won $25 from this whole scratcher ordeal at this pitstop Jacob and I made on the way to San Francisco back in February.
  • Got to travel before the pandemic and even during, although traveling during- it is definitely not the same and extra precautions were taken.
  • Rented a boat with my friends for the first time ever at Bass Lake.
  • First time going to Squaw Valley, Kings Canyon National Park, and Hume Lake.
  • Jacob found one of the last Switch Lites at the beginning of the pandemic and when ACNH first came out – all the way in San Diego. Sent him the money, he then bought it for me, and brought it up to LA when he got the chance. Amazing.
  • 4.0 GPA for two semesters straight and graduated with three AA’s without realizing it!
  • Got to color, paint, and read, again, more than ever. The banana bread phase of the pandemic was honestly the best time.
  • Started new projects such as this blog. I love it.
  • Finally started studying CSS.
  • Won $10 from this random scratcher on the way to Jacob’s house.
  • Got to spend a weekend in Oceanside literally right across the beach and pier with almost my whole family.
  • Summer was tough mentally and emotionally, but God was really watching out. Every time I ‘fell,’ He always someway-somehow got me right back up, again.
  • Fall has been tough, too, but I’m feeling a little more peace than before.
  • Traveled to Idaho for the first time ever!
  • First time flying with Jacob and we departed from LAX.
  • First time in Salt Lake City, UT ever… even if I was just in the airport the whole time.
  • Spent a week in Sedona, AZ and my first time there!
  • Finally drove 8 hours from San Diego by the Mexican border and through southern Arizona.
  • Hiked Cathedral Rock.
  • Visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross.
  • Spent a week trout fishing and exploring Idaho with Jacob’s family and Shirley.
  • Blessed with my classes getting sorted out and being able to take more at my community college to take off time and money spent at the university.
  • A lot of stay home days with my momma and brother. I actually loved lockdown especially when it first started. I got to spend so much time with them that we hadn’t had in a long time.
  • Read a lot more than previous years.
  • Blessed with a new Kindle to feed my love of reading, thanks to Jacob’s family.
  • My blog picked up more traction than I ever thought it would. My heart has been so full with the support and love. Especially since it’s been something I’ve been doing for myself.
  • God has been so so so present in my life. Even in the hardest times, through all my tears, and heartbreaks – God has been so so good. He is SO GOOD, ALL THE TIME. So much to be thankful for and I wanted to take a moment to record this thought in the midst of my list.
  • One of the best Christmases I’ve ever had. Almost as good as when I was a child. Sometimes, it didn’t really feel like Christmas, but all I had to do was remind myself that it’s all of what I make of it.
  • Made long distance work with Jacob and got to see him/be with him way more than I thought.
  • October and November were so tough. I’m blessed to have made it through an added low point in my life, but I definitely came back stronger and more aware.
  • Got to watch a lot of the movies and tv shows I’ve been wanting to binge!!
  • Watched 2x the horror and thriller movies/tv than ever this year.
  • Felt really close to God almost every day even when my prayer and prayer time looked so different now compared to last year.
  • First year having 2 Christmases.
  • Got to eat momma’s Arroz Caldo for Easter and Christmas!
  • A way better than expected 22nd birthday!! Filled with my small group of friends and family. Felt so loved and truly and madly grateful.
  • Lost more weight than I thought I ever would in a healthy and sane way. Loved learning more about myself and slowly but surely loving my body.
  • A better relationship with food.
  • Started to pray more before eating food – beyond the actual prayer.
  • Tried to be more sustainable and making my way towards a lifestyle better for the earth and its people.
  • Saved more money than I thought I would and got to make more money than I thought I would in such hard times through little big things.
  • First time at Cabrillo National Monument.
  • Spent New Year’s Eve binging CAOS.
